Why subscribe?
Because you’re interested in what I, he of the woefully generic name Mark Sample, might have to say about things like internet culture, pedagogy, creative coding, digital narrative, or AI (throwing that one in there for the SEO possibilities, obviously).
Stay up-to-date
I share stuff in all sorts of corners of the internet. But search engines are failing, social media is an abyss, and it’s increasingly difficult to reach people who might be genuinely interested in one’s work. So email it is. Every post of this not-a-newsletter will goes directly to your inbox/spam folder/promotion tab.
What this isn’t
This is not a side-hustle. I’m not going to charge for posts. No digs against writers who do offer paid posts—I support quite a few of those newsletters myself—but I’m lucky to be in a position where whatever money I would make here is beside the point.
This is not a community either. I’m not going to invite you to join a Discord server. You don’t have to “like” my posts, or leave “notes” or anything like that.
This is not a diary. You’re not going to get relentless details about my everyday life. If you want to catch up with me on that level, hahaha, good luck.
